About the race
The Boston Half is a half marathon presented by the Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. The event is scheduled for November 8, 2026, and will start and finish in Boston’s Franklin Park. The route runs along the Emerald Necklace Park System and passes notable parkland such as the Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, Willow Pond and Olmsted Park, following the Riverway, Jamaicaway, and Arborway.
The field is limited to 9,000 participants. General registration reached capacity; additional entries were available through Team Dana‑Farber. The published entry fee for 2026 was $110. Entrants must be at least 14 years old on race day. All athletes receive an adidas Boston Half participant shirt and a unicorn finisher medal.
Event services include mailed bib distribution for U.S. residents and an Athlete Services Tent for in-person bib pickup by international residents on race day. A timing tag is affixed to the back of the bib for net timing and official results; the tag must remain intact to be scored. Hydration on course includes Poland Spring natural spring water, Lemon Lime Gatorade Endurance Formula, and Maurten. Medical personnel will be on site. Gear check is available near the start area with a provided plastic bag and gear‑check tag. Prohibited items include strollers, in-line skates, skateboards and animals.
