Boston Half
The Boston Half presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund is a half marathon held on November 8, 2026, that begins and ends in Franklin Park. The rolling course runs along the Emerald Necklace Park System, including the Riverway, Jamaicaway, Arborway, Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, Willow Pond, and Olmsted Park.
The event fields about 9,000 participants on race day. General registration opened in July 2026 and has reached capacity; entries are non-transferrable, non-deferrable, and non-refundable. Entrants must be 14 years old on race day. The entry fee is $110. All athletes receive an adidas participant shirt and a unicorn finisher medal.
Operational details for athletes include mailed bib numbers for U.S. residents and bib pickup at Athlete Services for international residents; a valid government photo ID is required to claim or replace a bib. The timing and scoring tag is affixed to the back of the bib and should remain intact. Gear check is available near the start area using the provided plastic bag and bib-affixed tag; organizers are not responsible for valuables.
There is no parking at Franklin Park. The B.A.A. provides shuttle transportation from Copley Square and Forest Hills, and a rideshare drop-off point is designated at 168 Seaver Street. Hydration on course includes Poland Spring water, Lemon Lime Gatorade Endurance Formula, and Maurten. Portable toilets are positioned near the start/finish area and along the course. Medical personnel and official race photographers (MarathonFoto) will be on site.
The event includes free youth races for children up to 14 years old. On-site lactation accommodations in the Start/Finish area provide two enclosed spaces with tables, chairs, power outlets, sanitizing supplies, and a receptacle for milk disposal; participants must bring their own breast pump and accessories.
