Boston Half : Boston Athletic Association
The Boston Half is a half marathon presented by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, held on November 8, 2026. The event begins and ends in Franklin Park and follows the Emerald Necklace park system, passing the Arnold Arboretum, Jamaica Pond, Willow Pond, Olmsted Park, Riverway, Jamaicaway, and Arborway. The field is limited to 9,000 participants.
Registration opens July 8, 2026; the entry fee is $110. All entrants receive an adidas participant shirt and a unicorn finisher medal. Entries are non-transferrable, non-deferrable, and non-refundable. Entrants must be at least 14 years old on race day. Youth races for children up to 14 years old are offered in conjunction with the event.
Operational details include mailed bibs for U.S. residents and on-site bib pickup for international residents at the Athlete Services Tent. A timing and scoring tag is affixed to the back of the bib and must remain intact; the bib should be worn on the front of the torso on the outer-most layer. Gear check is available near the start area using the provided plastic bag and gear check tag.
On-course services include Poland Spring brand water, Lemon Lime Gatorade Endurance, and Maurten; portable toilets are placed near the start/finish and along the course. Medical personnel will be on site. Prohibited items include strollers, in-line skates, skateboards, and animals. Race photos are provided by MarathonFoto and official results appear online and in the B.A.A. Racing App. To be an official finisher, participants must complete the event within the allotted time of three hours from when the last participant crosses the start line.
