The Bookin’ It 5K is a community event presented by the Friends of the ACC Library, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that supports the Athens-Clarke County Library and its services. The event takes place at Sandy Creek Park, 400 Bob Holman Road, Athens, GA 30607, and is described as family friendly.
The event program includes three options: an in-park 5K, a short Fun Run that follows three quarters of a loop on the park circle and finishes on the beach access road at the 5K finish line, and a Virtual Bookin’ It 5K that allows participants to run 3.1 miles anywhere and submit a recorded time. The 5K course runs entirely inside the park on paved surfaces.
T-shirts for the event are long sleeve this year; shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by January 30, 2026, and thereafter are available while supplies last. The 5K awards include Overall Male/Female, Masters Male/Female, and first-place awards in multiple five-year age groups from 10 and under through 80 and over. Fun Run participants receive a participation surprise. Virtual runners must register as virtual participants and are not eligible for t-shirts or race day awards.
