Book It For Books 5K - Edison
Book It For Books is a literary-themed 5K event held at Roosevelt Park in Edison, New Jersey. Proceeds support programs for children, adults, and seniors at the Edison Public Library branches.
The event features a chip-timed 5K (3.1 miles) run and walk. Registration opens on June 15, 2026 and closes on June 30, 2026; the registration fee is $26. Registration includes a finisher’s medal and custom event socks. An event shirt is available for an additional $15.
Awards include a special recognition for the overall top three fastest runners, who will receive a placeholder to engrave text onto bricks in a pathway at the North Edison Library in 2027. Special medals will be presented to the top three participants in these age groups: 10 and under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
A costume contest will be part of the event; the most original costume receives year-long bragging rights. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event on October 10, 2026 with location and time to be announced, and on race day October 11, 2026 at the event site.
