Boogie Nights Summer Run Series - Ventura
The event is a ten-week summer run series presented by the Ventura Running Club, held at the Ventura Promenade in front of Aloha Steakhouse and The Crowne Plaza. The series runs from May 20 to July 22 and features weekly 5K races along with a kids 1K.
The series is chip-timed. Series entrants receive a free event shirt and may add a meal or drink during registration. Single-night entries can purchase a shirt or meal/drink separately. Series registration is listed at $120, and single-week registration is listed at $18. On-site weekly registration is available for $17 plus a processing fee.
The series is organized as a fundraiser for the local high school cross country program; over the past 11 years the event has raised more than $50,000 for the program, with nearly $10,000 raised in the most recent year. Individual nights have themed attire and activities across the ten weeks.
There are no individual night awards; instead the event awards series prizes for the top three in each group based on overall series points.
