The Bonnet Springs Park 5k is a community event held at Bonnet Springs Park, located at 600 Bonnet Springs Blvd in Lakeland, Florida. The event is organized by Bonnet Springs Park, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, in partnership with the Lakeland Runners Club, Inc., also a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The park covers 168 acres and combines urban amenities with natural areas and oak tree canopy.
The program includes a chip-timed 5k run on a USATF-certified course (FL23012JK), a 5k stroller rider event, a Kids Fun Run, and a Kids Run Parent option. Walkers are welcome. The 5k registration is open to ages 5 and older; the stroller rider event is open to children ages 9 and under. Some events have participant limits.
Packets including bibs, shirts, finisher medals, and awards are not mailed. A friend or family member may collect a participant packet during packet pickup windows or retrieve awards during the awards ceremony. Shirts not picked up before the event will be available for exchange after the event. A portion of proceeds will support the Carol Jenkins Barnett Endowment at Bonnet Springs Park, and Valiant Products is listed as a supporting sponsor.
