The RAT Trail and Ultra Festival

The RAT Trail and Ultra Festival is an annual running event held at Porthpean, St Austell, along the scenic South Cornwall Coastal Path. It features multiple challenging off-road races with distances ranging from 5 miles to an ultra 64-mile (100k) route called The Plague. Other courses include the Black (32 miles), Red (20 miles), White (11 miles), and a unique 24-hour continuous challenge called Bring Out Your Dead on a tough 5-mile coastal section.

The festival offers a vibrant atmosphere with a festival village providing registration, camping, catering, entertainment, and a licensed bar.
