Event Overview
The Candy Cane Course is a Christmas-themed running event held in the Greater Chicago area. This holiday-focused race offers multiple distances to accommodate various participation levels. Participants can choose between several road race options or a virtual participation format.
Distance Options
The event features a variety of distances:
- 50m Kids Dash (for ages 10 and under)
- 1 Mile (untimed)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 15k (9.3 miles)
Participation Details
The 5k, 10k, and 15k races are chip-timed and include live results and awards. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed events. Registered participants for the main distances receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. For the Kids Dash, registered participants receive a youth-sized shirt, a mini bib, and a specifically crafted medal, though children are permitted to participate in the dash for free if they do not require the event gear.
Finishers can access free event photos and treats at the finish line. There is also a "Volunteer then Run" option available where individuals assist with event setup before participating in their chosen distance. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual race allows for participation from any location.
