About the race
The Heatwave event in Greater Atlanta schedules multiple in-person race distances plus a virtual option. Race entries include a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, 1 Mile, and a Kids Dash for ages 10 and under. Additional participation options listed are a Volunteer Then Run option and an approved Running Buddy role.

Most in-person distances include a custom bib, a designer event shirt, and a finisher medal. The 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon use chip timing with live results and awards; the 1 Mile and Kids Dash are described as untimed. Free photos are provided for participants, and the event includes free ice cream at the finish.
Virtual participants receive a digital bib, an event shirt, a mailed finisher medal and packet shipping; packets are mailed the Wednesday after the event. Virtual runners may complete their distance at any location and may upload times and photos starting on the day of the event. Youth-based pricing is available: ages 12 and under are listed at $17 for the 5K and 10K.
