About the race
The Hometown event in Houston, Texas on May 30, 2027 offers in-person road races and a virtual option. Race registrations include a custom bib, a designer shirt, and a finisher medal for the timed distances and most untimed events. Chip-timing with live results and awards is provided for the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and the Volunteer and Run option.
The Half Marathon will include pacers. Free photos and finish line treats are listed among the event services. Virtual participants receive a digital bib, event shirt, finisher medal, and shipping for their packet. Virtual packets will be mailed the Wednesday after the race.
Virtual runners can upload times starting the day of the event and may upload photos to the participant photo album. The kid's dash is an untimed dash for children ages 10 and under and includes a mini bib, youth-sized shirt, and a custom medal. The 1 Mile entry is untimed and includes a bib, shirt, and medal. The Volunteer and Run option asks volunteers to arrive 30 minutes before packet pickup and allows volunteering followed by running a chosen distance.
The Running Buddy Half Marathon requires prior application and approval. Distances offered: - Kid's Dash: 50 yards - 1 Mile: 1 mile - 5K: 3.1 miles - 10K: 6.2 miles - Half Marathon: 13.1 miles - Virtual Run and Volunteer and Run options.
