Road Kill XC
Road Kill XC is a team cross-country relay hosted by Trail Racing Over Texas in partnership with Hardloop Endurance as part of the HARRA Fall Series. The event is a USATF sanctioned four-person, eight-mile relay with each team member completing a two-mile loop.
The course is at Bear Creek Pioneers Park in Houston with main parking at the baseball fields. The loop is marked with blue spray paint and flagging and is run counter-clockwise with runners keeping to the right. No hydration is provided on the course; the start/finish area will have water, sports drink, and post-race snacks. The event operates as a cupless race so participants need their own cups or bottles.
Teams choose from multiple divisions by age and gender, including youth, open, masters, veteran, and 60+ and 70+ categories. Teams may be HARRA-affiliated for interclub scoring; mixed or non-member teams can compete but are not eligible for HARRA standings. Each runner may run only one leg. The relay uses a baton that includes timing RFID and requires hand-to-hand exchanges in the designated exchange area. Teams must complete each leg or face disqualification. Ribbons are given to all finishers and wood engraved medals are awarded to members of division-winning teams.
