Backyard Ultra on a Historic Family Farm
Bob's Big Timber Backyard Ultra takes place in Glenmont, Ohio, on a family farm that has been operated by the same family for seven generations over a period of nearly 150 years. This event follows the "Last Runner Standing" format, where participants complete consecutive loops until only one runner remains.
The course features trails that meander under a canopy of Old Growth Timber and pass through prairie flora. These paths are located on and around the homestead and are regularly utilized by the local running community, cross-country teams, and for charitable fundraising. The land is managed through specific forest and land conservation practices.
The event offers several amenities to participants:
- Free camping located near the start and finish area
- On-site parking close to the course hub
- Day and night trail loops across the farm property
The venue is recognized for providing high mileage opportunities within a setting focused on hospitality and community. Runners gather at the farm to compete on a site where the forest and land have been preserved for over a century. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
