Bobcat Trail Races
The Bobcat Trail Races take place in Palmer Park, located in the heart of Colorado Springs, Colorado. This event highlights the trail system of one of the city's prominent parks, featuring a landscape of rocky bluffs, lush forests, and technical single-track paths. Participants can observe views of the surrounding city and Pikes Peak throughout the courses.
The event offers four distinct distances:
- 50K: A multi-loop ultra-marathon with approximately 3,591 feet of elevation gain and a 10-hour time limit.
- 25K: A single loop covering 15.36 miles with 1,796 feet of elevation gain and a 9.5-hour time limit.
- 10K: A 6.5-mile course featuring 710 feet of elevation gain and a 9-hour time limit.
- 5K: A 3.68-mile route with 400 feet of elevation gain and an 8.5-hour time limit.
The courses are marked with orange ribbon with black polka dots, while blue and white checkerboard ribbons indicate incorrect directions. Aid stations are positioned along the 50K, 25K, and 10K routes, though the 5K distance does not have an aid station. This is a cupless event, and runners must carry a reusable cup for hydration.
Crews are permitted to support runners specifically at the start and finish area. No pacers are allowed for any of the race distances. All participants have access to a drop bag storage area at the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
