About the race
The WVU Hospitals East Foundation Apple Trample 5K takes place in Martinsburg, West Virginia on October 17, 2026. The timed road race covers 5K (3.1 miles) and both starts and finishes at War Memorial Park on Tennessee Ave.
The course follows neighborhood streets and the Apple Harvest Parade Route. From the park the route goes onto King Street, then Maple Ave, Burke Street and Queen Street, with a turnaround at the corner of Queen and Stephen Street before returning to the park.
Packet pickup and race day registration are held at War Memorial Park on the morning of the event. Parking is available in and around the park, and parking along Tennessee Ave at the park border is permitted. Note that King Street will be closed between Queen Street and Delaware Ave for race activities and the park entrance will be closed prior to the race start.
At the finish there is a post-race party and an awards ceremony featuring local apples and refreshments. Awards are given to the overall top man and woman (overall winners are excluded from age group awards) and to the first three male and female finishers in each age group. A youth riding in a stroller for all or part of the event will not be considered a timed participant and is not eligible for awards.
Registration fee is $35. A $15 discount for pre-teens is applied automatically. Proceeds support the WVU Hospitals East Foundation Cancer Comfort Fund, Cancer Services, and the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival Committee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
