Blues Cruise
Blues Cruise is a 50K trail ultramarathon held October 4, 2026, near Reading, PA, organized by the Pagoda Pacers. The course circles Blue Marsh Lake as a roughly 31-mile loop that passes through woods and fields, features single track and rolling hills, and includes less than 0.5 miles of public roadway.
The course includes one major climb called the "Ski Slope" with about 240 feet of vertical gain and one optional water crossing that can be taken on foot or by bridge. Seven themed aid stations are positioned around the course and are described as well stocked and staffed by local ultrarunners. A 9-hour time limit is strictly enforced; several aid stations have cutoff times and a sweep vehicle is available for runners who do not meet cutoffs.
Camping is available for a fee. A relay division allows teams of two to four runners; a team captain must register the team and add a team name before individuals register. Relay teams cover the 50K across four legs:
- Leg 1: The Lead Out start to Aid Station 1, ~4.7 miles
- Leg 2: The Voyager Aid Station 1 to Aid Station 4, ~13.3 miles
- Leg 3: The Mountaineer Aid Station 4 to Aid Station 6, ~7.1 miles
- Leg 4: The Finisher Aid Station 6 to finish, ~6.75 miles
Post-race provisions include a full buffet, drinks, physical therapy and massage services. Registrants signed up by August 31 will receive race shirts; all finishers receive event swag. The event is supported by roughly 100 volunteers and is part of a local Triple Trail Challenge series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
