Blues Cruise 50K Trail Ultramarathon
The Blues Cruise is a trail ultramarathon held near Blue Marsh Lake in Reading, PA. The event in 2026 marks its 21st anniversary and features a course that roughly circles the lake, covering about 31 miles with woods, fields, rolling hills, and single track. The route includes less than 0.5 miles of public roadway, one optional water crossing, and a notable climb called the Ski Slope with about 240 feet of vertical gain.
Aid support includes seven themed aid stations that are described as well stocked and staffed by local ultra runners. A 9 hour time limit is strictly enforced; aid stations 5, 6, and 7 have cutoff times and a sweep vehicle is available for runners who are cut, with potential wait time. Camping is offered for a small fee.
A relay option is available for teams of 2 to 4 runners. Relay teams split the course into four legs and prizes are awarded to the fastest teams. Relay teams receive limited aid station support compared to individual runners. All registered participants have access to post-race activities, including a full buffet, drinks, and recovery services. Race shirts will be ordered for registrants signed up by August 31. Registration closes September 28, 2026. Optional Refund Guarantee coverage is available through a third party to protect individual entries.
