Blues Cruise 50K Trail Ultramarathon
The event is a 50K trail ultramarathon that circles Blue Marsh Lake near Reading, PA. The approximately 31 mile loop runs through woods and fields, includes single track and rolling hills, and uses less than 0.5 miles of public roadway. The course has one major climb called the Ski Slope with about 240 feet of vertical gain and one optional water crossing that can be run or crossed via a bridge.
The race features seven themed aid stations staffed by local ultra runners. A nine hour time limit is strictly enforced; aid stations 5, 6, and 7 have cut off times to support this limit and a sweep vehicle is available for runners who are cut. Camping is available for a small fee. All registered runners have access to post race activities including a full buffet, drinks, and on‑site physical therapy and massage services. Race shirts will be ordered for registrants signed up by August 31. All finishers receive event swag.
A relay option divides the course into four legs for teams of two to four. Team captains register the team and each relay member registers individually. Relay legs and approximate distances are:
- 50K trail ultramarathon (about 31 miles)
- Leg 1 The Lead Out about 4.7 miles
- Leg 2 The Voyager about 13.3 miles
- Leg 3 The Mountaineer about 7.1 miles
- Leg 4 The Finisher about 6.75 miles
Registration closes September 28 at 11:59 PM ET. A third party Refund Guarantee option is available at checkout to cover personal inability to participate; it does not cover event cancellation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
