Blues Cruise

Blues Cruise is a 50K trail ultramarathon near Reading, PA, organized by the Pagoda Pacers. The event marks its 21st running and follows a loop around Blue Marsh Lake of about 31 miles.

The course travels through woods and fields and features plenty of rolling hills, single track, and less than 0.5 miles of public roadway. A single major climb called the Ski Slope gains about 240 feet of elevation. There is one optional water crossing that can be splashed through or bypassed on a bridge. The route is supported by seven themed aid stations that are stocked and staffed by local ultra runners.

A strict 9 hour time limit applies. Aid stations 5, 6, and 7 have enforced cutoffs to meet that deadline, and a sweep vehicle is available for runners who are cut; some wait time should be expected. Camping is available for a small fee.

Relay teams of two to four runners share the course in four legs; a team captain registers the team and each runner registers individually. Relay teams receive limited aid station support and prizes are awarded to the fastest teams. All registered participants have access to post-race activities, including a buffet, drinks, and physical therapy services. Race shirts are ordered for registrants registered by August 31 and all finishers receive special swag.

Additional options include a Refund Guarantee through a third party that covers personal inability to attend but not event cancellation.
