Bluegrass Pug Run 5K : Iroquois Park, Louisville
The Bluegrass Pug Run 5K is a dog friendly event at Iroquois Park near the amphitheater (1080 Amphitheater Rd, Louisville, KY 40214). The course follows the paved pedestrian path and the start and finish are located close to the amphitheater.
Two participation options are offered:
- 5K in-person at Iroquois Park near the amphitheater
- 5K virtual option
Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes October 17, 2026. The registration fee is $25.00. Packet pick-up is on-site near the pavilion before the race; participants are advised to pick up packets with enough time to pin bibs.
Only fixed-length (no retractable) leashes are allowed for dogs. Strollers are allowed since the course is on a paved pedestrian path. The event is CUPLESS; participants are asked to bring a water bottle, hydration pack, or cup for personal hydration.
Organizers request that participants arrive early for parking and prefer carpooling to reduce demand on park parking. Proceeds benefit Bluegrass Pug Rescue. The rescue works to rehabilitate and place abused, abandoned, homeless, unwanted, sick, or injured pugs into adoptive homes in Kentucky and nearby areas, and provides medical care and spay or neuter operations while educating the public about the breed.
