The Belmar Parade Day Mile
The Belmar Parade Day Mile is a one-mile race located in Binghamton, New York. The event takes place on Main Street and is held as a precursor to the local St. Patrick's Day Parade. Participants run or walk the course starting from the Broome County Public Library and finishing at the Belmar Pub.
The event features three distinct categories or heats:
- Open Race: Available to all participants who wish to run or walk.
- Women's Elite Heat: Requiring a qualifying time of sub 6:45 per mile.
- Men's Elite Heat: Requiring a qualifying time of sub 6:00 per mile.
Monetary prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the elite categories. Additionally, a gift card premium is available for the first male and female runners to reach the 400m mark, provided they complete the full race.
A vehicle is provided at the start area for participants to drop off bags for transport to the finish line. Bib pick-up is available the day before the race at Confluence Running or on the morning of the event outside the Broome County Public Library.
