Blueberry Fun Run
The Blueberry Fun Run is a community athletic event held in Ketchikan, Alaska, organized by the Ketchikan Running Club. The event features three distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 1 mile
- 5k
- 10k
The races begin on Grant Street near the Ketchikan Police Department. The 1 mile course leads participants through the Schoenbar Trail, returning via Harris Street and Park Avenue. It then turns onto Dock Street before finishing back on Main Street. The 5k and 10k routes also start on Grant Street and follow the Schoenbar Trail to Schoenbar Avenue. Specific course details for the latter portions of the longer distances are coordinated locally.
Participants can register online in advance or sign up in person on the day before the event at the local Rec Center. While bib and shirt pickup are available on the morning of the races at the starting line, there is no registration available on the day of the event. To ensure the availability of specific giveaway sizes and quantities, the organizers require registration before July 11th due to lead times for customization and shipping.
