Blue Star Mothers of NEPA Hero 5K Run/Walk - 10th Anniversary!
The Blue Star Mothers of NEPA Hero 5K is scheduled for November 7, 2026, in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. The course begins at the Tunkhannock Little League fields on Sunnyside Road and continues along the Iroquois Trail. The event marks the chapter's tenth anniversary.
The program includes two event types: a 5K run and a 5K walk. Registration opens June 1, 2026 and closes October 30, 2026. The registration fee is $20. Participants who register by October 30 are guaranteed a free T-shirt. On race day there is packet pickup and onsite registration, a DJ, a basket raffle, a brief ceremony with flag raising and the National Anthem, race instructions, a post-event DJ, raffle drawing, and awards.
The event is organized by Blue Star Mothers of NEPA, a chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. The organization is non-partisan, non-political, non-sectarian, and operates as a 501(c)(3). Membership includes mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers and female legal guardians who have children serving in the military, guard or reserves, or children who are veterans. The chapter’s stated focus is supporting its members and promoting patriotism while supporting troops, veterans, and families of fallen service members.
