5Kate is a community running and walking event held at Nay Aug Park in Scranton, PA on October 31, 2026. The event commemorates a local resident who died by suicide and highlights the impact of mental illness and the need for compassion and support for people with mental health conditions.
The program includes these distances:
- 3.1 miles 5K run
- 1 mile 1 mile walk
Online registration opens on September 1, 2026 and closes on October 29, 2026. The registration fee is $30. Day-of registration and packet pick-up are available. Age groups cover a broad range: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
