Blue Ridge Ultra
Blue Ridge Ultra is a trail running event near Blue Ridge, Georgia, offering loop races of different lengths on trails inside the Chattahoochee National Forest. Runners follow marked routes that use the Benton MacKaye Trail, local hidden trails, and Forest Service roads. The course contains singletrack sections, small creek crossings, technical spots, steep ascents, and steep descents. Parts of the route cross Highway 60; caution is advised at those crossings.
The event provides six fully stocked aid stations offering water, sports drink, cola, snacks, sandwiches, cookies, candy, and fruit. Fifty kilometer runners receive one one-gallon drop bag at check-in, placed at Aid Station #2 and Aid Station #5. The course is 100 percent marked and live race results are provided during the event.
Start and finish are at the historic Shallowford iron bridge near the Ironbridge Bridge Cafe on Aska Road in Blue Ridge. Parking is limited and a shuttle location may be added depending on entry numbers. There is a canine class that registers with the 15K. Awards include a finisher medal, shirts, class awards, and a $250 prize for breaking the men's or women's 50K course record. A hot post-race meal is cooked to order by the Ironbridge Cafe.
