Blue Ridge Running Retreat
The Blue Ridge Running Retreat is a three-day trail running getaway in Roaring Gap, North Carolina, hosted by 12th State Endurance. Participants stay in a shared mountain lodge and take guided trail runs each day that showcase different areas of the Blue Ridge region.
Each day features a guided run with transportation provided from the lodge to the trailhead.
- Day 1 - Remote Parkway Trails, about 10 miles
- Day 2 - Scenic and Historic Trails, about 8 miles
- Day 3 - Signature Mountain Run, about 7 miles (optional extra miles)
Day 1 follows quiet forest trails near the Blue Ridge Parkway with moderate elevation gain and a river soak at the finish. Day 2 visits scenic viewpoints, historic landmarks, and ends at a local swimming hole. Day 3 highlights mountain views on a roughly seven-mile route with optional connecting trails for added mileage.
Lodging includes king suites, queen lofts, and a bunkroom, along with shared living spaces, a deck with views, and a game room. Pricing is listed per room type: king suite $1000 (second person +$300), queen loft $800 (second person +$300), shared beds/bunks $600. Included in the retreat are guided runs, trailhead transportation, pre-run breakfast and snacks, lunch prepared by an on-site chef, the first night’s dinner, coaching presentations, and an event running shirt. Evening dinners after the first night are not included. Pets are not permitted. Arrival is Thursday afternoon. The recommended ability is comfortable running up to about 10 miles on mountain trails.
