Blue Ridge Running Retreat
The Blue Ridge Running Retreat is a three day guided trail running weekend in Roaring Gap, North Carolina, hosted by 12th State Endurance. Participants stay at a shared mountain lodge and run guided routes that showcase the local Blue Ridge trails and viewpoints.
Each day features a guided run with included transportation to the trailhead. Typical daily routes are:
- Day 1 - Remote Parkway Trails, about 10 miles
- Day 2 - Scenic and historic trails, about 8 miles
- Day 3 - Signature mountain run, about 7 miles with optional additional miles
Pre-run breakfast items and snacks are provided at the lodge. After each run, lunch is prepared by an on-site chef and short coaching presentations cover topics such as training, racing, and nutrition. The first night’s dinner is included; evening dinners after the first night are not included. Guided runs, premium lodge accommodations, trailhead transportation, and an event running shirt are part of the retreat package.
Lodging options include king suites with private bathrooms, queen lofts, and shared bunk-style rooms. Pricing is listed per room type, with additional charges for second occupants. Pets are not permitted. The retreat recommends participants be comfortable running up to about 10 miles on mountain trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
