2026 Block Island Half Marathon
The Block Island Half Marathon is an annual running event held on Block Island, Rhode Island. The race features a single distance for participants:

The course begins and ends at the Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion on Corn Neck Road. The initial segment of the route travels north along a flat stretch of road before transitioning into a series of steeper hills and turns. Runners pass several local landmarks during this portion of the race, including the Great Salt Pond, regional beach dunes, and the North Lighthouse.
After reaching the North Light, the course turns back to complete a loop around the western side of the island. This section is characterized by a high frequency of turns and hills. The landscape along the route includes stone walls, rolling pastures, farmhouses, and views of the Atlantic Ocean. The final segment of the race leads participants down Airport Hill as they return to the pavilion at the finish line.
Logistics for the event include water stations positioned approximately every three miles along the course. Participants who register in advance are provided with a commemorative T-shirt. The race follows an open registration format for individual age groups.
