Block Island Half Marathon
The event is a half marathon covering 13.1 Miles on Block Island, Rhode Island, held on 10/11/2026. It begins and ends at the Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion, located near 7 Corn Neck Rd in Block Island.
The course heads north from the pavilion on a flat stretch, then rises through a gentle uplift to steeper hills and turns. Early views include the Great Salt Pond, beach dunes and the North Lighthouse. At the North Light the route reverses for a loop around the west side of the island.
The west-side loop includes many hills and turns and passes rolling pastures, stone walls, and farmhouses, with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The final section descends Airport Hill and returns to the pavilion.
Registration is available in the days before the race and the organizer lists a registration fee of $50.00. The event takes place in October on Block Island, when the island setting is noted for seasonal scenery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
