Blithfield Olympic Triathlon & Aquabike
Blithfield Olympic Triathlon & Aquabike takes place at Blithfield Reservoir in Staffordshire. The reservoir covers 790 acres and was opened in 1952. Much of the surrounding woodland is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The venue is listed as Blithfield Sailing Club at Waters Lane, Abbotts Bromley, WS15 3DU.
The event format comprises a swim, a bike and a run. The swim is 1.5 km in the deep reservoir water and is contested over two laps. The bike leg is a two lap rolling and fast course with an elevation gain of 355 m. The run is a two lap mixture of trail and road with 22 m of elevation. Event options include aquabike, individual triathlon and relay entries. Published entry fees are: aquabike £79, individual triathlon £79 and relay £89.
