Blackstone Edge Fell Race
Blackstone Edge Fell Race is a short fell race on Blackstone Edge in the South Pennines. The course visits the prominent trig point, sections of the Pennine Way and a Roman Old Road, and includes an infamous bog and rough terrain in places. The route has remained largely unchanged since its inauguration in 1983.
The event is listed as a Category 5.6 km with 366 m of ascent. It has been used as a counter in British and English fell championships on multiple occasions and is part of the FRA English Championship short series for 2026. The race is also included in the Todmorden Harriers Summer Series alongside three other local races; competitors who enter all four are eligible for a prize draw within that series.
Entries are by pre entry via SI Entries; there is no entry on the day. The minimum age for competitors is 16 years and kit requirements follow FRA rules. There are no junior races for this event.
