Run the Lights Blackpool 10k and 5k
The Run the Lights event in Blackpool combines an evening road race with the town Illuminations. It is scheduled for Saturday 15th August 2026 and offers two accurately measured courses along the promenade.
The route starts in the heart of Blackpool and follows the Promenade, passing landmarks such as Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach and the amusement arcades. The course is described as flat and fast and benefits from a seaside setting that is illuminated as night falls.

The event holds a UK Athletics licence and is chip timed for individual competitor results. All finishers receive a bespoke glow in the dark medal. Water and aid stations are provided on route and at the finish, and commemorative T shirts are available to purchase.
