Event Overview
The Big Santa Dash - Lancaster is a multi-distance Christmas running event held on December 20, 2026. The event comprises three separate races: a 1-mile Santa Dash fun run, a 10k road race called the Christmas Cracker, and a Half Marathon road race called the Turkey Trot. The fun run starts at 10:00 am, while the 10k and half marathon road races start at 11:00 am. The event is based at the 3-1-5 Health Club in Lancaster (postcode LA1 3PE). Entry and number collection opens from 9:00 am.
All participants receive a medal, and those in the Big Santa Dash also receive a candy cane. Spot prize T-shirts are available across all events. Fancy dress is welcomed, especially for the Christmas-themed fun run. The event organizer states a policy of "no refunds, swaps, or deferrals".
Distances and Entry Fees
Multiple distances are offered:
- Big Santa Dash (1 mile): Individual online entry is £11; a family entry for four is £35. On-the-day entry is £10 individual or £35 for a family (cash only).
- Christmas Cracker 10k: Online entry is £21 for affiliated athletes, £23 for unaffiliated, and £17 for Lancaster Runner's Club members. On-the-day entry is £25 for all categories except club members (£20).
- Turkey Trot Half Marathon: Online entry is £30 for affiliated athletes, £33 for unaffiliated, and £25 for Lancaster Runner's Club members. On-the-day entry is £35 for all categories except club members (£30).
