Blacklight Run - Maryland
The Blacklight Run is a nighttime event held at the Budds Creek Motocross Park in Maryland. This event combines a 5 km run with a music-focused social environment. Participants have the option to dance, walk, run, or jog through the course, which is lit by a canopy of fluorescent lights.
Throughout the course, ultraviolet neon glow powder is distributed by specialized cannons. This powder is non-toxic and reactive to UV light. The atmosphere is supported by live DJs playing dance music and synchronized light shows. The event is structured as a fun run rather than a competitive race, with no specific pace requirements for those taking part.
The experience concludes with an official celebration known as the Glow Flow ceremony. This after-party includes live music and the distribution of various promotional items. On-site amenities typically include food vendors and designated areas for group gatherings. Participants are encouraged to wear clothing that highlights the effects of the UV light and neon powder during the evening.
