Blackall100
The Blackall100 is a trail event on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk based at QCCC Mapleton, Sunshine Coast. It is a qualifying race for the Western States Endurance Run and runs over a mixture of forest, gullies and ridge lines through the Blackall Range.
Distances offered:
- 100 km (elevation gain 3290 m)
- 50 km (elevation gain 1580 m)
- 21 km (elevation gain 580 m)
All entrants receive a special edition event shirt and finishers receive a race memento and a course-specific bell. Prize categories include top three male and female placings in each distance, with cash prizes for the first male and female in each distance. Time-based finisher bands are used for the 100 km (multiple time thresholds are recognised).
Safety and logistics information is published for each distance. Mandatory gear requirements include a race bib, a mobile phone, capacity for water (at least 1.5 litres for longer distances, 1 litre for 21 km), a compression bandage, and items such as a headlamp, high-visibility vest and emergency blanket where specified. Drop bag services and checkpoint locations are provided for each distance; checkpoint drop bags must meet size and weight limits and be delivered at registration. Parking is located at Mapleton Community Hall with a short walk to the event hub. Run Queensland provides accommodation packages at QCCC Mapleton that include meals and have limited bed availability.
