About the race
The Black River Trail Classic is a trail running event held in Black River State Forest near Millston, WI. The 10th running of the event uses the Smrekar Lot for race starts and finishes and routes that pass scenic overlooks, woodlands, and rolling terrain formed by glaciation.
The event offers multiple distance options and published entry fees. Prices are shown before sales tax and platform fees.
- 10k entry fee: $35 early bird, $50 regular
- 25k entry fee: $55 early bird, $70 regular
- 50k entry fee: $70 early bird, $85 regular
- 85k entry fee: $120 early bird, $135 regular
All registrants receive a winter hat. Finishers receive collectable hand crafted wooden medals. Additional items and race amenities include personalized bibs for early registrants, hot food at the finish line, pies, chapstick, and extremely well marked courses. Finishers of the 85k receive a hooded sweatshirt and a commemorative patch for their first finish and a patch for each subsequent finish to add to the sweatshirt.
The 85k combines the shorter courses in sequence: runners complete the 10k, then the 50k, and finally the 25k. There is a 12 hour cut off for the 85k distance. On site camping is available and there are a number of nearby hotels though no official race hotel is designated. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
