Event overview
The Black River Trail event is the 5th annual running event held on May 2, 2026, in Watertown, NY. Races take place along the fully paved Black River Trail on the outskirts of Watertown. The course is described as smooth, flat, well maintained and offers scenic views overlooking the Black River. All race events start at the eastern entrance of the trail at the intersection of Rutland Street (Route 3) in the Village of Black River.

Logistics and services
Packet pickup is scheduled at Dick's Sporting Goods in Watertown on May 9 and at the race site on May 10 (race-site pickup begins at the trail entrance, 0.3 miles east of the Black River Drive-In on Rutland Street). Free parking is available at Black River Drive-In, 28035 NY-3, within walking distance of the start area. Registration includes a custom race T-shirt, race bib, a finisher medal, and post-race food and drink. Awards will be presented at the start/finish for overall male/female, masters male/female, and age-group winners.
Community and post-race
The event benefits the Volunteer Transportation Center, a nonprofit providing volunteer-based transportation to health, wellness, and critical-need destinations.
