Event
The Black Diamond takes place on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Audubon Park, 342 W. Oates Rd., Garland, TX 75043. The event offers multiple distance options:
- Half-Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- Kid's Dash (100–200 m)
- Virtual Option
Registration and race features
Registration for the in-person events includes an event-themed participation t-shirt and a custom 5 inch finisher medal for the 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and 1-mile entries. Chip timing is provided for all distances of 5K and longer. The organizer does not enforce strict cut-off times. The 1-mile event is untimed and has no group awards; finishers still receive a shirt and medal. The Kid's Dash is free to enter; dashers may purchase a shirt and a finisher medal as add-ons. The virtual option includes shipping of the shirt and medal the week of the race.
Awards and volunteers
Age-group awards are given four deep for male and female divisions from 0-4 up to 80+. Awards are also presented to overall winners, masters winners (40+), and grand masters winners (60+). Awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. Volunteers receive a code for a free race entry as a thank-you from the organizer.
Charity
The event organizer, Run Different, supports charities through donations. The organizer states it will donate 25% of profits and 100% of donations to Diamond Wishes, and 10% of profits and 100% of donations to Encounter Church (Fate).
