Black Copperhead Sting 50k
The Black Copperhead Sting is an ultra trail race held at Rocky Branch Park in Belmont, North Carolina. The event offers three distances: a 50K, a 25K, and a 5K.
The race consists of a repeated loop. Each loop is 3.24 miles long and includes 293 feet of elevation gain. The route follows a combination of trails named Tread, Canopy, Tread, and Eagle. The course is marked with red ribbons and arrows. The race has a 10-hour cutoff time.
An aid station provides food and drinks for participants. Options include pickles, candy, cereal, pretzels, fruit, bacon, water, Tailwind, and soda. Basic first aid is available on-site.
All finishers receive a unique, handmade pottery medal. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions. Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course. Bibs must be worn on the front. Trekking poles are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
