Bitton 5k
The event is based at Avon Valley (Bitton) Railway station, postcode BS30 6HD. The course is a certified 5k flat out and back on a tarmac cycle path. Runners should keep to the left and follow marshal instructions; a lead cyclist and marshals will be present along the route. The path is shared with other users, so organisers request courteous behaviour.
Bibs are collected from the registration desk on race day and on-the-night entries are accepted with cash and card. Free parking is available at the station but is a shared public space; drivers should follow signs and marshal directions and show consideration for local residents if the car park becomes full. Toilets are available at the station only; there are no toilets on the course and relieving oneself outdoors may lead to disqualification. There are no baggage drop facilities.
Bone conducting headphones are permitted; in-ear or over-ear devices are not allowed unless medically prescribed, and runners must be able to hear marshal instructions. Warm up on public roads is not allowed; cycle paths should be used for warm up. Water is not provided on the course but will be available at the finish; runners are encouraged to bring reusable hydration.
The organisers permit person-to-person transfers via the RaceNation process and offer deferral options to other 5k races remaining this year. Entry fees are £10 for UKA affiliated club members and £12 for non-affiliated runners. All entrants must be 11 or older on race day; under 16s require parental or guardian consent. Prizes include vouchers for first and second places and a pair of running shoes for anyone breaking the course record. UK Athletics road race licence number 31043 and course accuracy certificate 2019065 apply. Results are published on the evening of each race.
