Borrowby Show 5K
The Borrowby Show 5K is a single-lap 5 km road race on undulating country roads around Hillside Rural Activity Park in Knayton, north of Thirsk. The race is held as part of the annual Borrowby Show, an event that has showcased local agricultural, horticultural and equestrian activity since 1947. This edition is in its third year and will start and finish in the show’s main ring.
Entry is limited to 100 places. The entry fee is £15 and includes access to the Borrowby Show (show entry is normally £8). Entries on the day have been offered in previous years. Prizes are awarded to the first three men and the first three women.
Course details note a road surface and an undulating profile; the event is not suitable for wheelchairs. The race licence is listed as not applicable. Race headquarters is the Borrowby Show race tent. Facilities at the start and finish include food vans, coffee vans and a beer tent. On-course provisions and amenities are limited: there are toilets but no water stations, no distance markers, no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage.
