Greater Binghamton Bridge Run
The Greater Binghamton Bridge Run is a premier regional running event held in Binghamton, New York. The event features a variety of race categories that take participants through the heart of downtown and into several cultural and historic neighborhoods on the west and south sides of the city.
The courses are designed to be scenic and mostly flat, with only 100 feet of elevation gain. The half marathon route crosses four specific bridges: the Clinton Street, Court Street, Tompkins Street, and Washington Street bridges. It also passes under the Memorial Bridge. These crossings provide views of the Susquehanna and Chenango rivers. The 5k course similarly weaves through the west side of the city and crosses over two bridges.
Available distances and categories include:
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile course through downtown and historic neighborhoods.
- Half Relay: A two-person relay over 13.1 miles with an exchange at mile 6.
- 5k Race: A 3.1 mile course focused on the downtown and west side areas.
- Double Challenge: A combined event involving both the Half Marathon and the 5k.
- Kids Fun Run: A 1 mile run around the bases at the stadium.
The event features a Victory Village Party which includes live music and food. Participants in the Kids Fun Run receive a specific event shirt, while those in the Double Challenge receive multiple shirts, a medal, and a special prize. The half marathon and 5k courses are USATF certified. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
