Courses and support
Both races start and finish near the Biltmore Estate Winery and Hotel in Antler Hill Village and take place on estate grounds. Both courses are USATF certified (15k: NC17014DF; 5k: NC17015DF). The 5k is an out-and-back along the French Broad River with a turnaround at the Biltmore Lagoon and has one water stop near the 1.5 mile mark plus a port-a-john. The 15k begins with a flat section along the French Broad River valley, includes climbs and downhills on estate roads, passes the Deerpark Restaurant and Biltmore Riding Stables, runs in front of the Biltmore House through the Walled Garden and Rose Gardens, and returns along the river and lagoon. The 15k course has multiple aid stations, restroom locations, a lead vehicle, and a sweeper vehicle; the 5k uses a lead bike. Roads on course are not completely closed to vehicle traffic.
