About the race
Bigfoot Running Company presents a tropical-themed running event in Waco, TX on 08/15/2027. The event uses a luau theme with leis, music at the start and finish, a tropical photo backdrop, and post-race tropical treats. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before race start and shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed at least 10 days before the event.
Events proceed rain, shine, hot or cold. Distances offered: - Kids Dash : 50 m - 1 Mile - 5K (3.11 miles) - 10K (6.22 miles) - Volunteer then Run 5K (3.11 miles) - Virtual Run (9.33 miles) The 5K and 10K are chip-timed and include awards and finish-line festivities. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are not chip-timed. Finisher medals are provided for the 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K; a special Kids Dash medal is provided for young participants.
Race tees and aid stations are available. Course terrain includes pavement, crushed granite, and some unavoidable dirt paths. Events take place in parks and greenbelts where runners may encounter dog walkers, cyclists, and picnickers. Awards for the 5K and 10K include 1st Overall male and female Bigfoot Trophies, 1st Masters (40+) recognition pins, and standard age-group awards.
Age groups include 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+. Volunteer options include a Volunteer Then Run 5K option with a custom chip-timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal, limited to the first 10 sign-ups, and full race volunteer roles with shirt and other benefits.
