The Wiener Run - Waco
The Wiener Run in Waco, Texas is a spring community running event produced by Bigfoot Running Company. The event includes a variety of in-person races and a virtual option, race shirts and finisher medals, live awards, and on-course aid stations. It partners with a local wiener dog rescue and collects dog food, toys, and treats for donation. The course mixes pavement, crushed granite, and grass paths and takes place in public parks.
Distances and event formats
- Kids Dash (10 & under) : short non-timed dash; race tee, finisher medal, exclusive pin.
- 1 Mile : race tee and finisher medal; not chip timed.
- 5K (3.11 miles) : chip timed; overall trophies, masters recognition, age group awards.
- 10K (6.22 miles) : chip timed; overall trophies, masters recognition, age group awards.
- Volunteer then Run (5K) : volunteer before running; chip timed entry, shirt, finisher medal.
- Virtual Run (13.1 miles) : virtual distance option.
Additional details note a finish-line hot dog and beverage for participants, a live DJ and name announcements, and a BBQ style awards celebration. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race start and shirts are guaranteed if ordered at least 10 days before race day. Volunteer roles include water stations, course monitors, finish line helpers, sweepers, packet pickup, floaters, lead bike, and a mascot role.
