Turkey Shuffle - Waco
The Turkey Shuffle is held in November at Indian Springs Park in Waco, Texas, on parks and greenbelt trails with mixed surfaces including pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt. The event includes on-course aid stations, finish-line snacks and refreshments, a DJ for race announcements and music, and packet pickup offered 1.5 hours before the start.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash: about 50 meters, for ages 10 and under, not timed.
- 1 Mile: not chip timed, includes shirt and medal.
- 5K 3.11 miles chip timed; overall trophies and age group awards.
- 10K 6.22 miles chip timed; Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.
- Volunteer then Run 5K limited to five participants; includes chip timed bib, tee, medal.
- Virtual Run 6.22 miles option.
The Kids Dash is not timed and includes a tee shirt, race medal, and a Kids Dash recognition pin; race photography will capture the kids on course. All finishers of all distances receive a medal and shirt. The 5K and 10K feature chip timing, overall trophies, masters recognition, and standard age group awards across multiple brackets.
A costume contest awards a "Biggest Turkey" trophy and a prize pack that includes a certificate for two future race entries, a HEB gift card, and a Bigfoot Running Company swag pack. Volunteer roles are available with benefits for full volunteers such as a race shirt, souvenir medal subject to availability, and a free future race entry or a prepaid gift card.
