Event overview
The Big Kahuna 5K, 10K is scheduled for Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Rose Rudman Park, 450 Shiloh Rd, Tyler, TX 75703. The event is organized by Bigfoot Running Company and uses a tropical luau theme with leis, themed photo backdrop, music at the start and finish area, and a post-race tropical treat. Race shirts and finisher medals are provided for most events. Aid stations are available along the course. Packet pickup is available starting 1.5 hours before the race. The course surface includes pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths and runs through parks and greenbelts.
Race details
- Kids Dash - for ages 10 and under, not timed, includes tee and Kids Dash medal.
- 1 Mile - untimed, includes tee and finisher medal.
- 5K (3.11 miles) - chip-timed, awards, tee, finisher medal.
- 10K (6.22 miles) - chip-timed, awards, tee, finisher medal.
- Volunteer then Run 5K (3.11 miles) - limited spots, includes tee and finisher medal.
- Virtual Run
Age-group awards are offered for the 5K and 10K (multiple age brackets from 10 & under to 70+). Overall and masters recognitions are listed for both chip-timed distances. Youth pricing, referral and group discount options are noted. Volunteers can choose running or non-running roles and check in at the Registration Tent before the event.
