The Big Kahuna 5K, 10K - Houston
Hosted by Bigfoot Running Company at 18427 SW Freeway in Sugarland, Texas, this event combines timed road races, a kids dash, and a virtual option. Events take place in parks and greenbelts and proceed in all weather.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash, 50 m, for ages 10 and under.
- 1 Mile, includes race tee and finisher medal.
- 5K, 3.11 miles, chip timed with awards.
- 10K, 6.22 miles, chip timed with awards.
- Volunteer then Run 5K, 3.11 miles, limited to first 10.
- Virtual Run, 9.33 miles.
Race amenities include leis for participants, race tees, finisher medals for the 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K, music at the start and finish, tropical photo backdrop, post-race tropical treat, and aid stations along the course. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race and closes 20 minutes before the race. Shirt guarantee requires registration at least 10 days before race day.
Age group awards for the 5K and 10K follow standard categories from 10 and under through 70 plus, with awards for the top three places in each group and overall trophies and masters recognition.
Volunteer options include a Volunteer then Run 5K slot and full race volunteer roles. Full volunteers receive a Bigfoot race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card. Volunteers should arrive 1.5 hours before the race to check in.
