Heroes and Villains - San Antonio
The Heroes and Villains event, organized by the Bigfoot Running Company, takes place at Southside Lions Park in San Antonio. The race course utilizes local park and greenbelt trails, featuring a variety of surfaces including pavement, crushed granite, and dirt sections. As the event is held in public spaces, the trails remain open to other park users throughout the duration of the races.
Participants can choose from a variety of race distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles)
- 5K (3.11 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Kids Dash (20 Yards)
- Virtual Half Marathon
The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon distances are chip-timed. All finishers across every distance receive a medal and a t-shirt. For the timed races, the first overall male and female finishers are awarded a trophy, while the top three finishers in various age groups, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over, receive gold, silver, or bronze recognition pins.
The event features a costume contest before the race starts, where participants can showcase superhero or villain attire. On-site amenities include a rally tent with snacks and refreshments, a live DJ, and aid stations located along the course to provide hydration.
