The Big Kahuna 5K, 10K - San Antonio

This tropical-themed event is hosted by Bigfoot Running Company and takes place at Southside Lions Park in San Antonio. The main race distances are a chip-timed 5K (3.11 miles) and a chip-timed 10K (6.22 miles). Other available events include a Kids Dash for participants aged 10 and under, a non-timed 1 Mile run/walk, a "Volunteer then Run 5K" option, and a Virtual Run.

All participants in the 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K events receive a finisher medal and a race t-shirt. Kids Dash participants receive a special medal. Leis are handed out to participants, and there is music at the start and finish line. A post-race tropical treat is provided for every runner, and there are tropical-themed photo backdrops.

Awards are given for the 5K and 10K events. The overall male and female winners receive a Bigfoot Trophy, with additional awards for Masters (40+) and standard age group categories. The course terrain is described as a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths.

There are several volunteer opportunities available, with roles including water station attendant, course monitor, finish line helper, and the Bigfoot mascot.
