Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K - Oklahoma City
Gingerbread Lane is a holiday-themed race day held at Stars & Stripes Park in Oklahoma City. The event offers several in-person distances plus a virtual option, and participants receive a holiday-themed race shirt and a festive medal.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash - about 50 meters for children 10 and under
- 1 Mile - untimed one-mile event
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed
- 10K - 6.22 miles, chip timed
- Virtual Run - 6.22 miles, remote participation option
- Volunteer then Run 5K - volunteer plus chip-timed 5K, limited to first 20 participants
On-course support and logistics include water aid stations, course monitors, and mixed course surfaces expected (paved trails, crushed granite, occasional dirt). Packet pickup is provided before the race; shirts are guaranteed if ordered at least 10 days before the event. The 5K and 10K feature overall trophies, masters recognition pins, and age-group gold/silver/bronze award pins across standard age categories. The event also runs a holiday costume contest with prizes that include two free entries to a future Bigfoot race, a trophy, and a treats bucket.
Volunteer roles are detailed and include positions such as water station, course monitor, finish-line helper, packet pickup, lead bike, and mascot; volunteers receive event shirt or medal options and other volunteer-specific benefits.
