Shark Week Showdown at Webb Community Park
Shark Week Showdown is an ocean-themed running event held at Webb Community Park in Fort Worth, Texas. The event offers multiple distances, on-course aid stations, music at the start and finish areas, and event shirts and finisher medals for several distances. The course surface includes pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths. Events proceed in public park spaces where participants may encounter dog walkers, cyclists, and picnickers.
Chip timing is used for the 5K and 10K races. Age-group awards and overall awards are planned for the chip-timed distances; awards include trophies for overall winners and recognition for masters competitors. Age groups are defined in standard brackets from youth through 70 and older, with top three placings for each group.
Volunteer options are available. A Volunteer Then Run option lets volunteers help before the event and then run the 5K; this option is limited to the first 10 sign-ups. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP race access, and a choice between a future race entry or a prepaid digital gift card. Packet pickup is available starting 1.5 hours before the race start. Shirt guarantee requires registration at least 10 days before race day.
