Shark Week Showdown at Webb Community Park, Arlington TX
Shark Week Showdown is an ocean themed running event held at Webb Community Park. The program includes a Kids Dash, a 1 Mile run, a chip timed 5K, a chip timed 10K, a volunteer then run 5K option, and a virtual run.

The event provides finisher medals for the 1 Mile, 5K and 10K and a special Kids Dash medal. Race tees are included for participants and music will be present at the start and finish areas. The 5K and 10K feature chip timing, overall male and female trophies, a masters recognition pin, and standard age group awards across multiple age brackets. Aid stations are located along the course.
Two volunteer formats are available. The Volunteer Then Run option allows helpers to work before the race and then run the 5K; it includes a chip timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal and is limited to the first 10 entrants for that option. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access, and a choice of a future race entry or a prepaid gift card. Roles include water station, course monitor, finish line helper, sweeper, packet pickup, floater, lead bike, and mascot.
Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before race start. Expect a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt on park and greenbelt paths. The event proceeds in all weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
