Event overview

The Blazin' Summer Sufferfest is a night trail running event on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Cedar Hill State Park in Texas. Distances offered are:

  • ≈5K (one loop)
  • ≈10K (one loop)
  • ≈18K (one loop)
  • ≈36K (two ≈18K loops)
  • ≈54K (three ≈18K loops)

Course and logistics

This is a night trail race with no lighting on the trail; runners who cannot complete a full loop before sundown must carry an illumination device. All participants are required to carry a hydration device. Aid station access varies by distance: the ≈5K has no aid stations, the ≈10K has one aid station at about 3.4 miles, and the ≈18K/≈36K/≈54K visit the Copperhead Corner aid station twice per loop (approximately 3.4 and 7.2 miles). The event is cupless; a reusable collapsible cup is available for purchase at packet pickup.

Additional notes: drop bags may be left at Start/Finish at the owner’s risk, pacers are not allowed, finisher medals are given for distances 15K and over, and shirts are provided in the registered size. The park requires a day pass for participants and spectators age 13 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
