Event overview
Blazin' Summer Sufferfest is a night trail event on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Cedar Hill State Park in Cedar Hill, Texas. The race uses the 12-mile DORBA trail system in the southern part of the park, winding through over 1,000 acres of forest and grasslands along the edge of Joe Pool Lake. Terrain on the course is described as moderate to challenging. The event has an 11-hour time limit.

Course and support
All races run the course counter clockwise. The Copperhead Corner aid station sits along a fire road that bisects the trail system. Runners in the ≈5K pass no aid stations. ≈10K runners pass the Copperhead Corner aid station once at about 3.4 miles. ≈18K/≈36K/≈54K runners pass that aid station twice per loop, at roughly 3.4 and 7.2 miles, and should plan to carry enough water for the final segments noted by the organizers. There is no lighting on the trail; runners who cannot complete a loop before sundown must carry an illumination device. The race is cupless; a collapsible reusable cup is available for purchase.
Logistics and rules
All participants must carry a hydration device. Drop bags may be left at the Start/Finish at the owner’s risk. Pacers are not allowed. Awards go to top overall finishers and Masters (40+); finisher medals are issued for distances 15K and over, and participation medals for shorter distances. Shirts are provided in the size selected at registration and are not mailed. Cedar Hill State Park requires a day pass for visitors 13 and older; the fee noted is $7 per person.
