Event Details
The Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K Houston is a holiday-themed running event. It takes place on Sunday, December 6, 2026, at John Paul Landing Park in Cypress, Texas. The course may include paved trails, crushed granite, and some dirt paths.
Distances
The event offers several distances:
- Kids Dash (approx. 50 meters, for children 10 and under)
- 1 Mile Run
- 5K Run (3.1 miles)
- 10K Run (6.22 miles)
- Virtual Run
- A 'Volunteer then Run 5K' option is also available, limited to the first 20 registrants.
The 5K and 10K are chip-timed races.
Features and Activities
A holiday costume contest is held with prizes. DJ Sasquatch provides music. Post-race snacks and refreshments, including holiday cookies and milk, are available. All finishers receive a race shirt and a medal. Age group awards are given for the 5K and 10K events, including trophies for the first overall male and female finishers.
Youth pricing is offered for the 5K and 10K for participants 12 and under. Group registration discounts are available.
Volunteer opportunities exist for those not running, with roles including course monitor, water station attendant, and Bigfoot mascot. Volunteers receive a race shirt, a souvenir medal, and a free entry to a future race or a gift card.
