Rodeo Stampede – Houston
The Rodeo Stampede takes place at John Paul Landing Park in Cypress, Texas. It is a running event with a western theme, organized by Bigfoot Running Company.
The event offers several race distances:
- Kids Dash: An approximately 50-meter dash for children 10 and under. This event is not timed.
- 1 Mile Run: A non-chip-timed race.
- 5K Run (3.1 miles): A chip-timed race.
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles): A chip-timed race.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles): A chip-timed race.
- Volunteer then Run 5K: A limited-availability option for participants who volunteer before running the 5K.
- Virtual Run: A remote participation option.
All finishers receive a finisher's medal and a custom event t-shirt. The event also features a costume contest with a winner determined by crowd reaction. A DJ provides music, and names are announced as runners cross the finish line.
Awards are given for top finishers. Overall trophies are awarded to the fastest male and female in each event, and special pins are given to the top male and female masters finishers (40+). Standard age group awards are also given for the 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon events.
Snacks and refreshments are available at the finish area, and aid stations with water are located on the course. The event takes place rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
