Event Overview
The Rodeo Stampede is a running event held in Texas. It takes place on March 22, 2026, at John Paul Landing Park in Cypress. The event offers several race distances and is themed around a cowboy and rodeo atmosphere.
Race Distances
Participants can register for one of the following events:
- Kids Dash (for children 10 and under, approximately 50 meters)
- 1 Mile Run
- 5k Run (3.1 miles)
- Quarter Marathon Run (6.55 miles)
- Half Marathon Run (13.1 miles)
- Virtual Run
- A "Volunteer then Run 5K" option, which had limited availability.
The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon are chip-timed events. The Kids Dash and 1 Mile Run are not chip-timed.
Amenities and Features
All finishers receive a race medal and an event t-shirt. The finisher medal for this event doubles as a functional belt buckle. DJ Sasquatch provides music, and there is a Cowboy Costume Contest where the winner is selected by crowd applause. The contest winner receives a free entry to a future Bigfoot race, a special trophy, and a prize pack.
Bigfoot, the event mascot, is present for photos. Snacks and refreshments are available at a finish line rally tent, and aid stations with water are located on the courses.
Awards
Overall trophies are awarded to the first male and first female finisher in each timed event. Special recognition pins are given to the first male and female masters (age 40+) finishers. Age group awards (gold, silver, and bronze pins) are presented in standard categories from 10 & under to 70+.
Course and Logistics
The courses are described as running through parks and greenbelts, with a mix of paved trails, crushed granite, and some dirt paths. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event. The event proceeds in all weather conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
