Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Corpus Christi
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon is scheduled for 10/11/2026 at Bayside Park, 1517 N Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX. The event offers multiple race options including a half marathon and shorter distances, plus a virtual race.
The course runs through parks and green belts and may use mixed surfaces. Participants can expect paved trails, crushed granite, and occasional dirt paths. Aid stations are placed along the route to provide water and on-course assistance.
A pre-race costume contest is held at the starting area; costumes are judged for creativity, authenticity, and overall impact, and a Best Costume award is given. Post-race activity is centered at a rally tent with live music, refreshments, and awards announcements. Snacks and Mexican-style treats are mentioned as available at the finish area.
Timing and award details vary by distance: the 5K, Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles), and Half Marathon (13.1 miles) are chip timed and include overall and age-group awards and trophies. The Kids Dash (about 20 yards) and the 1 Mile event are not chip timed and include a tee shirt and medal. A Volunteer then Run option includes a custom chip-timed bib, a tee, and a finisher medal. A virtual 13.1-mile option is also offered.
