Run the Runway at Corpus Christi International Airport
Run The Runway is a unique athletic event held at the Corpus Christi International Airport. Participants have the opportunity to run or walk directly on one of the airport runways, providing a scenic backdrop centered on the world of aviation. The event features close-up views of various aircraft, specialized airport trucks, and other unique vehicles along the course.
The event offers several distance options to accommodate different interests:
- 1K Kids Fun Run
- 2 Mile Walk
- 5K Run or Walk
The 5K course is designed as an out-and-back route on the runway surface. Participants who register before September 1, 2026, are guaranteed a finisher's medal and a specific shirt size. Packet pickup is available the day before the event on the first floor of the airport terminal or at the start line on the morning of the race.
This event supports Wings of Texas, a local nonprofit organization. The organization focuses on creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the Coastal Bend area through various adaptive sports programs, including running, cycling, swimming, and bowling.
